Bio
Formed in 2022, The Silver Doors is a psychedelic rock band based in Asheville, NC. Blending elements of psych, garage, blues, and more, they pay homage to the Appalachian mountains they call home with the incorporation of an effects-laden electric violin. Their sound gets catapulted into new territories by letting the violin shine among blues backbeats, punk basslines, and reverb-drenched guitar riffs.
The Silver Doors is Brett Kent on bass/vocals, Bryce Alberghini on drums, Justin Lawrence on violin, and Alex Cox on guitar/vocals.
Bands they love: Night Beats, The Black Angels, Widowspeak, La Luz, Spiritualized, Band of Skulls, All Them Witches, Television, QotSA, Ghost Woman, BRMC, War on Drugs, Silversun Pickups, Psychedelic P*rn Crumpets, Fuzz...
'The Silver Doors' was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Alex Farrar at Drop of Sun Studios (Wednesday, Indigo de Souza, MJ Lenderman, Truth Club).

"Moving through the album, strong songwriting and a compelling rock-friendly passion take hold. The Silver Doors make a strong mark throughout this memorable album."
7/10 - "...this new collection makes for a dazzling introduction to what they have been cultivating so far."
"Boasting a heightened songwriting expertise, the Appalachian band manages to craft a record that’s not just a plethora of guitar riffs, but also a guided stream of lyrical imagery with a common thread."
"Although The Silver Doors prove their psych-rock bona fides early on, the album (recorded by Alex Farrar at Drop of Sun Studios) captures the band showing off some dexterity, finding time to offer up some poppier indie rock and even a ballad or two before the record’s over."
"From the opening chords of "Redeemer," listeners are transported on a musical journey that spans across a diverse landscape of genres. With influences ranging from garage rock to punk and beyond, the album delivers a dynamic and electrifying listening experience from start to finish."
"Although on the surface the local quartet draws most heavily from garage rock and psychedelia influences, the group's unique utilization of electric violin as a lead instrument has a way of sonically connecting to the rootsier end of the spectrum, just as bands like The Gun Club and The Bad Seeds once did. One of the brightest acts of our local underground rock scene, I look forward to hearing The Silver Doors continue to evolve. -JL"
